Batter Fried Squash Blossoms
2-3 dozen squash blossoms
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup cooking oil
1 tablespoon flour
1/8 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1 teaspoon salt
Paprika for garnish
In a shaker jar, combine milk, flour, salt, and pepper. Place squash blossoms in large pan; gently pour the milk-flour mixture over them. Heat oil in a large heavy skillet until a drop of water will sizzle. Fry the batter-coated blossoms in the hot oil until golden brown, drain on paper towel.
Sprinkle with paprika; serve hot.
