Baked Apple French Toast


1-1/3 cups corn syrup
½ cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 apples, chopped
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 loaf French bread, unsliced*
5 eggs
2-1/2 cups milk

Mix butter, corn syrup and butter together. Cook until boiling. On the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan, spread out chopped apples, then pour boiled syrup over apples. Sprinkle cinnamon over syrup and apples.

Cut thick slices of bread and put bread slices on top of apples, as many slices as it take to fill dish. Beat eggs and milk together and pour over bread slices. Make sure all bread is covered with liquid. Cover dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

Bake, uncovered in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.

* Can be substitute with thick slices of Raisin bread.
