Cocoa Applesauce Bread

1-2/3 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Dash ground nutmeg
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 cup applesauce
1/2 cup chopped pecans

VANILLA GLAZE (recipe follows)

Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom only of 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.

In large bowl, stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Add shortening, eggs and applesauce; beat just until blended. Stir in pecans. Spoon mixture into prepared pan.

Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes;

remove from pan to wire rack. Cool completely. Prepare VANILLA GLAZE; drizzle over bread. 1 loaf (14 servings).

VANILLA GLAZE: In small bowl, stir together 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 3 to 4 teaspoons milk.
About 1/4 cup glaze.
