All-American Lamb Burger

1 lb. lean ground lamb
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/4 cup old fashioned oatmeal
1/4 cup onion\cooked, minced
1-1/2 Tbs. fresh basil, chopped or 1-1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. seasoned pepper
4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
4 lettuce leaves
1/2 red onion\raw, sliced
1/2 lb. tomatoes\raw, sliced
Turn on broiler or prepare grill. Combine first 7 ingredients in a bowl. Mix
thoroughly and shape into 4 patties 1/2 inch thick. Broil or grill 4 inches from
heat source 5 minutes per side, or to desired degree of doneness. Serve on buns,
topped with lettuce, red onion and tomato slices.
