Apple Dumplings w/ Caramel Sauce
Dough:
2 C. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
2/3 C. butter
2/3 C. milk
Caramel Sauce:
1 C. brown sugar
1 C. white sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
pinch salt
1 C. hot water
6 apples
cinnamon
Sift first 4 ingredients, then add butter, milk. Roll dough. Cut apples in 1/2.
Fill centers w/ butter, brown sugar, & sprinkle of cinnamon. Cut dough into
squares (large enough to wrap around whole apple) Put apple halves back
together, and wrap dough around apple.
Sauce: mix sugars, flour & salt, add hot water & cook 5 minutes pour
over apples when they are half baked.
350-375 until golden brown, 40-50 minutes
