Cheesy Chili Casserole

1 lb ground beef
1/2 onion, diced (can leave out if your kids hate onion)
1 tin tomato soup
1 large tin beans in tomato sauce
1 can corn, drained
1-2 tbsp chili powder (to taste)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
l bag corn chips
3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
Brown beef with onion, drain. Combine with all other ingredients except chips
and cheese. Put mixture into a 13x9 pan. Roughly crush chips and put on top of
meat mixture. Sprinkle cheese over chips. Bake at 350 for approx. 35 minutes or
until heated through. This is a real family favourite and is quick and
inexpensive.
(I've substituted tortilla chips or even corn flakes for the chips and it
