Yield: Enough to serve 8

(Tender tidbits of biscuit dough baked in butter.)

1/2 c. butter
2 c. plus 1/4 c. flour
1 Tbls. sugar
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. P lace butter in a 9 by 13-inch baking pan & melt in oven. Take pan out of oven when butter has melted.

Meanwhile, sift dry ingredients together. Add milk & stir with fork just till all is moistened.

Turn onto floured board & roll into a rectangle approximately 9 by 13-inches & score with a knife into 3/4-inch strips lengthwise & crosswise every 2-inches, going almost but not quite through the dough.

Lift scored dough (in 2 halves is easiest) on spatulas & place on melted butter in baking pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes at 400 degrees F.
